aww thank you! the fit part was the most frustrating tbh, like I needed to bake in the fact that some pieces wouldn’t fit when placing my six item order
I tried out Rent the Runway a few years ago in business school when I thought I'd have a need for more "business casual" and "party on the weekend" options than I'd probably want in my regular life. Usually the pieces didn't fit right or they'd arrive a little "too" dry cleaned and looked worn out. I chose to cancel after a few months and instead chose to invest in a few quality pieces that I just rewore to everything.
Loved reading about your thought process, Bri! I loved all 3 dresses on you, but the Kachel is definitely the most "garden-vibey"...great choice!
Sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with Rent the Runway!! It sucks to spend money on a rental service and the pieces don't even end up working out. Hope you love your investment pieces much more ❤️ appreciate you following along!!
Love that anthro dress on you!! And loved reading your thoughts! Ive had a similar experience of being let down by rent the runway. I wanted to use it for a couple months to experiment with my style and find things I normally wouldn’t. Ended up being a waste of money because nothing fit right, and I was constantly thinking of what was going to come next. I like my style much better when my closet doesn’t have a revolving door on it. That being said, excited to follow along with your rule of 5 year!
aww thank you :') it sucks because these services have such cute pieces, but by the time they get to you/you try them on, half of them don't end up working! appreciate your support ❤️
I really appreciated this piece! I have been eyeing clothing rental companies lately, but something has always stopped me from making the leap. Ultimately, I think what I'm yearning for is a return to more local solutions, though of course those aren't always feasible outside of major cities. Fashion is such a wonderful, strange, and maddening thing to love.
I've always found the concept of garment rental a little strange, because as a sentimental creature I like it when my clothes are familiar to me and build up memories and history - but I can see it being useful for special occasions, as you say.
You make a really important point about it not actually being as eco-friendly as it looks!
I look forward to reading more, and as a fellow first-time rule-of-fiver I wish you luck! 🖤
Loved this! I have done (and mostly loved) RTR for a couple years and am still grappling with it re: how it has changed my approach to shopping and style
Love that dress! I have so many friends with rental subscriptions but I never have because I feel like it would be so hard to get the fit right
